Knead to Know With Hollis – July 28th

Does anyone know how August is this weekend? Anyone? Bueller…Bueller? Like seriously, I swear it was just the beginning of June the other day. Now, its almost August, which means its pretty much Fall and therefore basically Christmas. What a whirlwind!

In all seriousness though, this is when summer is really hitting its stride. So much freshness coming in the from the fields right now. It’s just the greatest. Blueberries, raspberries, Niagara peaches, sweet corn, new potatoes…just yum. I have been known to just have 4 cobs of corn for supper and nothing else. Summer at its best, and we love having the market stocked with all this fresh goodness.

In Murphy family news, we celebrated the wedding of Calder and Stephanie this past weekend at the farm. We decked out the potato storage with our collection of antique chandeliers, string lights and created the perfect spot for a celebration. Thankful that things have opened up enough to celebrate them.

And if that wasn’t enough celebrating, we hosted our first ever Murphy’s Prom for our staff that were graduating and missed out on their graduations and prom earlier this year. It was such a fun evening (conveniently in the decorated wedding barn!) and we were so happy for them to have made their own prom memories this year despite the state of the world.

So, cheers to July and all the celebrations we are grateful to have had amidst the chaos of life as we now know it. I am looking forward all that August holds as we soak in all that is summer!
