Murphy’s Rice Pudding

Delicious rich and creamy Rice Pudding


3 1/2 cups of Milk

2 cups of Half and Half

1  cup of Arborio Rice

1/4 tsp of Salt

6 tbsp of Sugar

1 1/4 tsp of Vanilla Bean Paste

1 1/4 tsp of Cinnamon ( mix with 1/2 tsp of sugar to avoid clumping)


  • Mix all ingredients except the vanilla and cinnamon in a large pot
  • Turn burner on medium/high and bring to a low boil (be extremely careful, milk will boil over very easily!)
  • Reduce heat down to medium/low, cover and allow to simmer for 25-30 minutes or until rice is creamy and tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and cinnamon and stir.
  • Enjoy!


If not eating right away, place saran wrap directly onto the pudding to prevent a skin from forming

When reheating add a splash of half and half to keep the creamy texture

Eat within 1-2 weeks
